NNU rapport 21, 2001
NYGADE 10, RIBEDen Antikvariske Samling i Ribe.
Indsendt af Lis Andersen.
Undersøgt af Orla Hylleberg Eriksen og Aoife Daly.
NNU j.nr.
Ingen kunne dateres. En 5 årrig rytme i årringskurven 70340059 viser, at træet, som prøven kommer fra, sandsynligvis har været udsat for oldenborreangreb.Huskonstruktion
Tre stolper fra samme huskonstruktion er undersøgt. Prøverne kunne ikke dateres. En 4 årrig rytme i årringskurvern 70340089 viser, at træet, som prøven kommer fra, sandsynligvis har været udsat for oldenborreangreb.Splintstatistik: 20 -5/+10 år.

NNU report 21, 2001
NYGADE 10, RIBETimber from excavation
Ten samples of Quercus sp., oak, were examined. Four were dated. All of the samples have sapwood preserved, of which eight have complete sapwood.Section 3
Two samples from section 3 were examined and dated. Both samples have sapwood preserved, of which one has bark edge.
On the oldest sample (70340049) the outermost tree-ring was formed in AD 1133. Allowing for the average amount of sapwood rings in Danish oak trees (20 -5/+10), the felling date for the tree, from which the sample comes, is estimated to AD 1134-40.
On the other sample (70340039), the outermost tree-ring was formed in AD 1175. The bark-ring is complete, which means that the tree from which the sample comes, was felled in the winter AD 1175/76.
The curves from the two samples cross-match, albeit with a low t-value.Section 4
One sample from section 4 was examined and dated. The sample has the bark-ring preserved. The outermost preserved tree-ring was formed in AD 1314. The bark-ring was not complete, which means that the tree from which the sample comes, was felled in spring/summer AD 1314.Section 5
Two samples from section 5 were examined. One sample was dated. The dated sample has the bark-ring preserved. The outermost preserved tree-ring was formed in AD 1207. The bark-ring was not complete, which means that the tree from which the sample comes, was felled in spring/summer AD 1207.Section 6
Two samples from section 6 were examined. None of the samples could be dated. A five year rhythm is observed in the tree-ring curve 70340059, which indicates that the tree, from which the sample comes, possibly was attacked by cockchafers.House construction
Three poles, all from the same construction were examined. None of the samples could be dated. A four year rhythm is observed in the tree-ring curve 70340089, which indicates that the tree, from which the sample comes, possibly was attacked by cockchafers.Sapwood statistic: 20 -5/+10 years
