GURRE SLOT, FREDERIKSBORG AMTNordsjællandsk Folkemuseum, Hillerød.
Indsendt af Flemming Beyer.
Undersøgt af Orla Hylleberg Eriksen og Aoife Daly.
NNU j.nr. A8143Bro/vej?
Stolper
Tre stolper er undersøgt, to dateret.

("Planke 6" bestod af to prøver.

Bridge/road?
Nine samples of Quercus sp., oak, were examined, three posts
and six planks. Five were dated. Three of the samples have sapwood preserved.
Posts
Three posts were examined. Two were dated. The curves from the two
dated samples (2134002A and 2134003A) cross-match well (t=6.18)
and are averaged to form a mean curve of 175 years. The outermost preserved
tree-ring (2134002A) was formed in AD 1365, bark observed on the sample,
winter felling. The trees, from which the samples come, were felled in
the winter season AD 1365/66.
Planks (loose finds)
Six planks were examined. Three were dated. ( "Planke 6" consisted
of two pieces. It was not possible to fit the measurements from the two
pieces.)
Two of the dated samples possibly come from the same tree. The outermost
preserved tree-ring (21340049) was formed in AD 1061, including four sapwood
years. Allowing for missing sapwood, the trees from which the samples come
are estimated to be felled at c. AD 1077.
Sapwood statistic: 20 -5/+10 years
